what distinguishes New Yorkers from other Americans?

New Yorkers don't look people in the eye.
They are generally foul mouthed
They have bad manners
They love the Yankees to death
They are all somehow associated with the Mafia
and talk in a Brooklyn accent.
Also they all carry wooden baseball bats.
