This is interesting.

I wear Common Project everyday for the last 3 years, never had to get ride of any of my pairs.

The only problem I have is with one pair where the leather in the inside for the heel starts getting off but it was a pair I used to wear before systematically using a shoehorn.

Quite curious to see the state of your soles

I think it depends on how your heel strikes when you walk (overprone, neutral, underprone). I think if you're neutral then shoes tend to last longer since it doesn't wear out on one side as quickly.

how you all know that they use the "same soles from the same factory" baffles me.

there's a little M or W logo on these shoes, as well as KVA, old lanvin, balenciaga, m grifoni, fujiwara, old raf, and on and on

yep, and I believe the soles on my filippa K's also use the same sole, and they were only $60.

Just to let you know, I've updated the board for Common Projects FW 12/13 with the last shipments. Normally it's should be almost complete

http://pinterest.com/olivier/common-projects-fw-12-13/

Including what I think is a new model but as usual The Corner (which is supposed to be the Official online Store) just screw up with the name so I have no idea what this model is called. So if you have seen it somewhere else, please help me with the name

Black

Burgendy (that Corner called Maroon wtf)

Last additions are:

Winter Postal Boot Black

Working boots brown

Tournament low Grey, Dark Brown

Rec Shoes Patent Burgendy

Achilles Mid Dark Brown

Chukka Suede Dark Brown

Achilles high vintage green

As usual, if I wrote shit or if I missed some models, please feel free to point out.

cheers

How tall are they comparing to other high top CPs or other high top model?

Here you go. I don't know if I like patent leather with jeans, so here is a pic with something I'll probably wear them with. They seem to be normal high top height, but I don't have anything to compare them with. I don't think I'll boot tuck, but I took a photo for you so you can see the height.

I just got these from oki ni. so nice. best CPs I own, on par with my bballs. the leather is so soft and has a beautiful grain tres bien's photos are more accurate in terms of color than oki ni's.

hows the dye on those nubuck hi's? I got the red ones from fw10 and the color rubs into white laces like crazy. Anyone have another pair of colored nubucks that's had this happen? Only other color I've handled is white and those obviously aren't as saturated.

Sure, the leather might be "better" and stuff as the shoe gets more expensive but honestly once the sole wears out who cares about the leather lol

As far as i'm concerned, I plan to keep my cp's for a long time so I wear em occasionnally. Any pair of shoes that you wear everyday are going to end up destroyed. simple. I guess I can't afford cp's like I can affort beaters shoes (vans era, boat shoes, etc) in the 65-140$ range. But for 300$+ shoes...no way i'm gonna use em as every day shoes. Especially since I use public transportation, the weather is can be pretty shitty, The odor since I wear my shoes sockless, etc.

i'm might be too conservative tho. I have 500$ kitsune X quoddy mocassins that i'm scared to wear because I could get stains on em, I got dior homme sneakers shoes i've worn once in about a year for similar reasons. I like to buy nice shoes but I end up wearing my vans era 355 days/year lol.

i think this is the intended point. i'm used to paying $150 for shoes i end up using as beaters so an extra buck isnt a dealbreaker for me for a pair of high quality shoes. at the end of the day, i think the reason we all end up buying higher quality clothes/shoes isn't primarily because it will last longer but because it makes you feel better / resonates with your personality / confident to wear them. if that means using them only on a night out or whatever, so be it.

Yep exactly, so people should stop complaining about how fast CPs wear out etc..

Sure, the feeling of self achievement that comes with owning higher quality products is important.

However, when you do value more a product, you tend to take better care of it, and therefore it will last longer.

I can see the evolution of my CPs between the first pairs i was not really taking care of, and the new one that look almost new anytime I wear them.

I got my black achilles mids 2 weeks ago( Thanks Harbin!) and they haven't left my feet! I just think all these expensive purchases should just be worn and enjoyed! I'm indoors most of the time since i work in a hospital and other clinics, but i'm not scared to take them outdoors or commute in them either. Here they are fresh off the box:

For sizing questions: these are EU 44 and im an 11 in vans and nike, 10.5 in clarks db's and chucks. The fit a hair loose, probably because of the taper at the end, obviously your toes wont get in there, so im happy with the purchase..and with the way these fit me, i wouldn't be able to fit in a 43 as some others have said. i guess its just the variety of feet we have, or i'm just lucky these fit.

I've experienced the same with my navy vintage lows in nubuck but my red tournament perforated mids are the worst.
