Gutting blowfish at home is a great idea!

By the way, did anyone here try out blowfish? Does it taste that special or is it really just about the thrill?

I've eaten at a Korean restaurant in L.A. that serves it. From what I recall, it tasted fine--a slightly firm white fish with a mild flavor. Not worth the risk of death or whatever.

Come to think of it, I was just talking to my friend's wife last night about how she and her dad would catch blowfish and they'd eat it. We were all drinking heavily, so I'm not 100% sure this was true.

Blowfish sashimi is pretty nice, I don't even like fish that much but blowfish sashimi is pretty tolerable, even good, depending on what else you eat with it...
