No but they keep leaving them at my doorstep and it actually makes me angry that they print such waste

yes. they're very useful here where most brick and mortar outfits don't have a webpage let alone listed in online directories. I was looking for truck parts btw.

I also think a lot of escort services and in-room massage therapists get a lot of business from their directory listing.

I throw them away immediately.

About 3 years ago I got one with some nice artwork on the cover, so I kept it for a week before throwing it away.

lol... I remember when the movie 'over the top' came out the guy that played "bull" hurley came to town promoting the movie and his "trick" is doing that tearing a phonebook in two trick on live tv.

Haven't used one in years. A month or so ago one was left on my doorstep, and it surprised me because I thought they were no longer made. It immediately went to the trash bin.
