Ipod docks: Beosound 8 vs. Zeppelin Air vs. Audioengine

Thoughts on these? Kind of want the Beosound after stopping in a store over the weekend, just like the look and it would look nice wall mounted. Not a super audiophile, I want it to sound good but I also want it to look really good.


1. Beosound 8.

2. B&W Zeppelin Air. Still expensive, and kind of chunky looking.

3. Audioengine: Heard these sounds the best but I can't wall mount it and it looks ugly, like computer speakers

Beosound 8 without doubt. Both sound and design is impeccable. Only the most extreme audiophile would notice the differences in sound between those three.

The contest would be between Zeppelin Air and Beosound 8. Very similar in sound quality, better wifi functionality in the Zeppelin and design, well, design is always about personal preference but I prefer the Beosound 8 slightly. In the end its all about how much you appreciate your money as the Zeppelin beats Beosound hands down in that regard. I'm fifty fifty and although Zeppelin Air would be the sensible choice there is no wrong choice here as both products are excellent.

The Zeppelin or B&O things are fine for something to carry from room to room, but the Audioengine speakers are going to sound vastly better for the simple reason that you can separate the left and right speakers for a proper stereo image Plus it's going to have better bass. The others are really just boom boxes.

good point about the stereo effects. are you going to be able to place them far apart enough to notice this?
