^thanks. i actually do not want to be shredded like Zyzz but some definition would be nice.

i want to also avoid protein shakes as well (did not like it from past experience). i do feel stronger though since being more active. baby steps i guess

Downing PWO shakes like the bros you see at the gym is not a sine qua non for muscle gain. Just look at old-timers like Saxon and co. who were ripped and strong as fuck. Just keep your diet in check (put down enough calories) and lift heavy, see what happens.
