I have a tattoo'd, half-black friend that is convinced he can go to Japan and sleep with as many women as he wants simply because he is all of the above.

I think he's crazy, and will be highly disappointed when he gets over there.

Who is right?

I've also heard this. I think it's a fascination about people who are "different." I've also heard the same thing about black men in eastern European countries (from by ex-boss, who was a bad ass Army Ranger). He was also a smooth talker, so that might be the real reason.

A buddy of mine worked in Japan for 3 years as an English instructor. He figured it was a game of numbers for him being that there were so many single women out on the town in a single night and he was a red-headed American. I guess being a foreigner in such a populated place does have its advantages.

But really, where's ratboycom's expertise when you need it...

Black Americans are likely to trigger AIDS concerns in Japan, from my understanding. Make of that what you will.

Depends on where he goes, but assuming he will know where to go and is at least decent at picking up girls, he will get more action than he would in US. Women in Japan, at least the big cities, are fascinated by foreigners. They prefer white guys, but black guys get some love too.

Okay, first of all, this is a huge over generalization. I live in Seoul but have been to Japan 5 times in the past year and a half. The person who said it's a numbers game is correct.

I think you'll find the vast majority of Japanese girls (99%) will be turned off by foreigners. The thing is, even if only 1% like foreigners, those are still a lot of girls.

In Tokyo, the first place every foreigner is told to go is Roppongi. I tend to avoid the place because every foreigner who goes to Tokyo is told to go there. You'll find girls there who love foreign men but then you'll also find a ratio of 10 guys to each girl looking to hook up with them. I do think the club there called Vanilla is decent, though.

I can speak Japanese, am Asian American (fit in a bit more) and am from Hawaii (Japanese people love the place) so I feel like I have a better chance away from Roppongi. The one thing I've learned is you have to be persistent. My cousin and I were rejected 8 times by a couple of girls (in a coffee shop) before they agreed to go out with us once.

hahaha... I literally laughed when I read this. Other than Roppongi area (known for Gaijin friendly bars and Gaijin Hunters, ie girls who want to hook up with foreigners) I would try Dogenzaka hill area in Shibuya, basically its the red-light district, Or Kabukicho if you are in the Shinjuku area. Im sure you could find some girl looking to score with an American there.

LOL dude I think he's asking about amateurs not professionals...if he strikes out with the Roppongi sluts I'm sure there are many nice Nigerian gentlemen in Shinjuku who can introduce him to some classy ladies.

I'm asian, short and have a beer belly. Would tall white chicks find me "different" compared to those they date and have their way with me?

All he's got to do is show up at Heartland in Roppongi dressed in his best suit, claim to work in finance and throw around a lot of money buying chicks drinks. The place is like a scene from Glamorama.

(****, why am I giving away my secrets?)
