Thanks for those pictures to explain the differences. Is it mostly aesthetic, or does it serve specific purpose for you to request for it - aside from gaining a little height with a taller heel?

Mostly aesthetic, at least for me. Maybe someone morre knowledgeable can explain if there is or has been a specific purpose for the cuban heel.

Regarding the Cuban heel, Phillip explained to me that the forward pitch of the heel is more angled and that the overall heel height is a bit increased relative to the standard StC heel. I opted to slightly increase heel height to match my G&G but maintained the standard form. I'll see next week and try to make a visual comparison to your pic below.

What was the code on this material, btw? BUF074? I may need to queue it up for a future order. biggrin.gif

Yes, BUF074, very nice IRL and feels a bit softer than CRA.

Looking forward to your pics!

Just spent the morning gpoing through the thread. These are gorgeous. I'm also really liking the chukka. Does anyone know where the best place to order from is for someone in the UK?

These boots came from LSDT (ma bad T_T); though MTO Paris which is just across the pond I guess would be your best bet, if not anywhere in the UK (don't know).

Cheers guys. If anyone knows anywhere in the UK let me know but I'll prob try MTO Paris as I won't be hit by any customs, etc.

Some chukka love, both on a modified classic last, 8mm soles and heels elevated by 4mm. Check out the detail on the new laces (normal StC flat laces also provided).

Here's a comparison of my slightly elevated heels with the Cuban heels. Mine have essentially a vertical drop, whereas the Cubans appear to angle forward a bit.

ME, adding that 4mm threw your chukka off balance with the ball of the foot/ball line being lifted up.
