I've taken the plunge and made my first St. Crispin's order!

The combination of frustration with G&G quality and service and the inviting and impressive staff at The Armoury NYC lured me over the edge.

Needless to say I'm in for several weeks of ardent anticipation:bounce2:

Has anyone received an order recently?  Was the wait time leaning closer to 8 or 10+ weeks?

Congrats on your first pair of StC and you won't be regretting your purchase.

The increased popularity with StC has increased waiting time but it's still not too bad compare to some other shoe- makers. My recent order took about 3 months but I did have a slight modification on my own last.

My complaint about GG would be ever increasing price, but service and quality has not deteriorated, what happened in your case? I don't think I want to spend more than ~1k on shoes at the moment...

Congrats, i will be considering St.C in the future as well. I love GG styling, but i have also been a little disappointed with quality and service as well (aside from price increases). I won't gripe about it, but my last MTO has spent more time with GG (while they repair them) than with me, and info has been sparse on the matter.

Next time i go to NY, i will have to visit the Armoury as well...

Congrats! What time did Phillip say? His estimate was right on to the week

And bummed I'm going to miss LSBH trunk show, had some stuff come up for work. Probably better as it's going to give me more time to figure out if I want any adjustments to PRET and hold off spending for a while

I honestly like G&G's more than StC...

SC MTO has the best fit for me aside from bespoke.  Leather quality isn't bad either and the cost of ownership including resoling is likely more reasonable.

And of course, the wait time is only 3 months +- couple weeks vs. G&G's 9 months.

But for bespoke, G&G is way better than SC.

Really, why is that?

Thank you, I'm very excited (so much so that I sprung for two pairs)!  I ordered a standard size so hopefully it's less than three months..

I think with the new price scheme, if you're going MTO (which I feel I have to due to my wide feet) the value for St.Crispin's appears much better.

JS, I feel like we have similar experiences with GG.  I do like the pair I have ( still waiting on two more which I'll probably just sell). I won't go on about my specific experiences here but they're related to having to send a pair back due to multiple quality control issues and then dealing with opaque timelines for delivery in general.

I was actually there a week ago and I couldn't go back for the trunk show unfortunately; but I did sit down with two knowledgeable workers who spent time with me talking over many details without pressuring me. (I spent my time contacting and visiting other retailers who practically brushed me off.)  The Armoury was great, and I ordered over the phone this weekend and they quoted me a 8-10week wait time. Fingers crossed.
