^ She looks lovely.

Stopped in at LeatherFoot over the lunch hour to check out the St. Crispin's lineup in advance of next week's trunk show.  With about 50 pairs on display, the choice was pretty mind-blowing.  I suspect that my first pair of these lovely shoes will be happening sooner rather than later - I just have to decide between an in-stock pair versus placing an order with Philip at the show. Nice problem to have, really. :)

Do it with Phillip, nice to get sized perfectly and last modifications are not much on top of price.

Plus getting your initials nailed on the sole in brass nail is awesome. Or maybe I'm just a narcissist.

Yes - I've been fitted by him before, but I really wanted to take the opportunity to try on both 8.5 and 9 in F and G widths in different models and lasts in advance of the trunk show rush so a to narrow things down.  As it happens, this oxford in an 8.5G fit me perfectly:

As did this chukka in 9F - go figure:

What I had in mind for an order was this very chukka in a darker brown, but then I started to really fall in love with this golden shade while in the store.

I'll be attending the trunk show regardless, and will make the decision then.

You and me both. :embar:  I'd totally do that on an ordered pair.

I have the opposite experience - they've been very pleasant in person, but on the phone when I asked if I could MTO a pair of corthay in gator and I asked if they could put a weather resistant sole on it.  Instead of answering that question he told me that it would be expensive and quoted me a price (the wrong price - half the actual cost).  I ended up ordering direct.

maybe they were able to get you a better price than the direct to customer pricing that cost twice as much?

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate leffot regardless of the one bad experience.  I've ordered from them numerous times, but my experience is that ordering direct, while possibly slightly more expensive, means a VAT deduction which makes it considerably more economical...  I've ordered more pairs from leffot in total, but have since switched to ordering direct.

no frills: as Steven would say: 👍👍👍
