Gentlemen, Thinking of buying my first pair of SC! which model do you prefer 105 or the boots 401?
looking to wear them with jeans and chinos on the wekends?

I prefer boots generally but also like the look of the 105 full oxford brogue?

I wish I could post some picturers but dont have any for now, both shoes can be viewed on madetoorderparis website.

I have the 105 Full Brogues which are nice and versatile but if I was looking for a pair to wear with Jeans and Chinos I would go with the 401 or the austerity brogue boot by St. Crispin. The 105 works better in my eyes with dress slacks or flannels.

Thank you gentlemen, I will also have to decide on which last suits me best. I wonder if St Crispin offer a repair service if needed once the sole starts to wear off?

I believe they offer a resole for $200 I think I read somewhere but don't quote me on that. I prefer the classic last to the chisled. I have a pair in both lasts. Good luck.

Checked with Steve from Leffot at NYC just 2 weeks ago, it's about 120 euros, ~~ 160USD which from what I understand is much cheaper than other brands.

Classic last tree Appreciation.

Also, I recently learned about a brand called Zonkey Boots which was cofounded by Michael Rollig, the founder of St Crispin's and Phillip Car's cousin. I like this pair of their shoe particularly.

You could see similarities of characters from St Crispin in some of their shoes but at a much more affordable price.

Thank you for letting me know, yes that is a much better price then some of the other brands. After a serious thought I went for the 105 just because IMHO for me the 401 had a bit too many colours going on with this particular model. I love the boot and will buy it but only if it is in one shade. I will post pictures as soon as I have the shoes.

120 for a resole is a great price, even if it only replaces the outsole. That's insane cheap for such a high end boot. Kind of encourages me to want to buy more..

Do they replace the whole outsole or only thefront part, excluding the pegged waist?

Zonkey Boots seem to only have a limited selection available directly from their site. Does anyone know another place to purchase online?

What about recraft? SC uses machine stitched outsole (despite its handmade claim) therefore the welt needs to be replaced after a few resoles like most GY welted shoes...

Why not send them an email if you are that interested?
