I took the plunge and bought 3 - 2 silk and 1 wool. I personally like a slightly larger knot, and the silk ones have just enough heft to do so if you so desire. The wool tie was a bit of a challenge today due to the thickness. To make the tip just hit my belt buckled I had to set the smaller blade to almost be the exact length of the fatter blade. If it had a skinnier mid-section or was a few inches shorter then I wouldn't have the problem. I tied a single 4-in-hand and it looks as if I wrapped around twice. I also tried a half-windsor and it looked like a full. So word to the wise, if you buy their wool be prepared for a thicker knot.
