Surely it's the browser which renders Javascript from websites and NOT the OS? From what I've seen IE8 renders Javascript heavy pages just as well on XP as it does on Vista or 7.
One major difference though, PCs which came with Vista or 7 tend to be somewhat more powerful than an older machine running XP. Especially when one sees those little stickers 'Designed for Windows XP', 'Designed for Windows Vista' and 'Designed for Windows 7'.
