Newb Seeks Advice Banana Republic

Thread Starter

I didnt know any better about clothing quality until I came here. I have been lurking on the message board for a month and am finally ready to begin seeking fashion tips. I have slowly accumulated some quality clothing (average by SF standards) brooks brothers navy blazer, jcrew seer sucker, ralph lauren madras blazer, jcrew cotton khaki blazer.

I had to cash in my rewards points for my credit card and the only "decent" clothing store was banana republic. What do you recommend I get from them the gift card is for 100 dollars I can spend over that by another 300 if it is a decent piece?

I live in Texas it is hot here 90% of the year so no heavy winter clothes please.

I do not not need dress shirts I get mine from CT or Brooks Brothers. Blazers, casual shirts, pants, jeans, shoes (I wear a 6.5-7 this will be addressed in another forum post ie where can I find small dress shoes) accessories all are lacking in my wardrobe. I do not mind ordering online so gap/oldnavy/the shoe company are fair game I am also only 20 minutes from the outlets.

Your advice is needed and appreciated.

Thanks SF!

I know your pain its so hot in Texas and its hard to dress stylish at times. I put most of my nicer pieces on hiatus till cooler weather. Unfortunately I don't like BR too much so I can't help you there. I would wait and check regularly until you find a piece you like. Also note where in between season right now so all the stuff left now wouldn't be extraordinary.

They have pretty decent, plain v-neck t-shirts.

The cut on them is pretty good, and they seem to be decent quality. I'd get a few of those. Their dress pants are pretty decent as well.
