Do these fit like APC NS?

Had a gift card and a coupon to burn, so I went to the Levi's in Tyson's Corner and tried out the cut. Got a pair in 30x34 that turned out to be Kaihara selvedge -- a pleasant surprise. Hopefully these will wear all right. If not, I've a pair of better-fitting beater jeans.

My pair jsut came in. The sz 30 513 is skinnier throughout the leg than my sz 31 511s. Has anybody compared them to 511 of the same size?

So does the 513 fit more like 511 or 514? I have no idea what size to get because I usually size up in 511 but fit true to size in 514. Can anyone help???

Thanks.

ime, 513 has similar top block and thighs to the 514, but tapers to a smaller leg opening. 511 is slimmer in the thighs and all the way down the leg.

More like the 514 in the thighs. Little bit higher rise and tapered below the knee. I'm not sure what's up with kushburner's pair, but I can't fit my thighs in a 511. IME, nothing like the 511's.

Thanks guys I think this gives me a good idea that I should stick with my regular size!

I tried on the rock washed and the rinsed neppy (both size 30s) at my local UO and the rock washed were somewhat slimmer (almost 511s). I had to size up one on those and they were still a bit slimmer than the rinsed neppy 30s. Does anyone know how the rigid selvedge fits compared to the two?

Might as well chime in here...

I got the gray waxed ones from Macys, not sure but it might be the zaha model.

The fit is damn good, like really good. It's kinda anti-fit in the thighs with a very nice taper and leg opening (7.75" on 33's). They're pretty damn ideal for anyone with thighs and ass but still want something that looks slim yet comfortably relaxed. I'm kinda worried about washing them because they have the whole rigid tag deal on them, and they feel waxy. Will probably have to do a gentle hand wash and see what happens.

What's annoying however is Levi's sizing. I'd buy these in black in a heartbeat but the black model has a much more dramatic taper and leg opening, for the same waist size.

Tangentially, I've been trying to find some cheap washed levi's and found some decent 511s at UO. But the hem actually gets SMALLER when I sized up from 32 to 33. WTH? Does not compute.

Prolly just a manufacturing discrepancy.

I just pulled the trigger on a pair of 513's from Levi with 40% off via FLASH40. The 511's I tried were terrible, idk, maybe if i was 13 they'd work.

I only have the rinsed neppy and the selvedge. Fit is the same IME, but the feel is different, of course.

Do these fit true to size (measurements)? Should I go up/down a size, etc?

I've lost about 10 pounds in the last couple months, used to wear 34/33 but am now buying 32's. The 513's I bought in 32 fit perfectly. In fact, best fitting jeans I've ever owned. Haven't washed them yet, but I think they will still be good.

Finally, a Levis cut that works for me. Or a cut from any make - I've always had trouble finding jeans that fit.

For slim guys the 513 is WAY better than the 514, which for me always flare at the upper thigh. The 513 fits all the way down my leg.

I'm 99% pleased with them. The only issue is that in my size (30-inch waist) the taper at the ankle is a little much, but I can live with it.

As a long-time Levis customer I've noticed they have changed their sizing, but a lot of garment manufacturers have done that, possibly to make Americans feel better about their increasing waistlines. My true waist measurement is 32", and the Levis jeans I purchased in 2003 are true to fit. Now however I must buy 31" or even 30".

For the 513 I'd advise sizing down 1" from what feels comfortable in the store. The jeans will stretch over time and look a little baggy if you don't size down. For me that meant going for 30" in the 100% cotton models, and 29" in the ones with 1% Elastine.

I absolutely love the 513s.  The perfect in-between that sits in the middle of the 514s (too baggy) and 511s (too tight/justin bieber-ish).

Can anyone recommend any raw denim with a similar fit?
