looks cool, expensive, but cool.

It looks like plastic.

Can you tell me the last time you complained about a fan "whipping" air at you?

I played with these yesterday at John Lewis. They are unbelievably cool, but I'm 80% sure that the novelty value constitutes its entire appeal. The airflow was distinctly average, and unless I was placing it in a hyper-minimalist office space, I'd spend £30 on a normal fan and take the other £220 and buy lunch.

The Airblade thing they put in bathrooms was a genuine advancement in technology, this is about making money from style-suckers. No functional improvement (the blade is only a danger to small children who can disassemble a wire cage) and 10 times the price of other fans.

Verdict: 3/10

I kind of want a few of the tall, oblong ones in silver. Wish they were metal though, the plastic looks way too cheap for my home.

Even the Airblade in bathrooms wasn't all that different than Mitsubishi Jet Towel units in Japan.

the price on these things is crazy, and after reading a few reviews people couldn't tell the difference between the dyson and a regular fan!!!

has anyone even seen the dyson hand dryer in restrooms or whatever? that thing is amazing

Yeah, the restroom ones are so great that I look forward to washing my hands just to use one.

I just bought a Vornado fan (posted a thread about it a few weeks ago). The thing works incredibly well and on the lowest setting is very, very quiet. Quality product, couldn't be happier. Not as cool looking as the Dyson, but still better looking than a conventional fan.

Buy this one instead, dunno if they ship to North America though, about 25 USD. My experience is that this type of fan is slightly more powerful than a conventional fan and it saves you a tad of space.

I like them.

If they're ANYTHING like the hand dryers, I'm sold.

youre about 2 years late to the party.

I like the air blade.

Strangely enough, the only time I ever saw one was in some seedy disgusting gas station out in the middle of no where in Bakersfield CA.

I kind of want one, just for the form factor and design and Dyson brand. I wanted an airblade at home but that would be rediculous and messy actually in a home setting....

who knows, 500 bucks is a lot for a fan.

I'm just waiting for the edition that hides in a painting and cleans air.

If you want a fan that lasts and works, get a Vornado.
