This thread was derailed pretty quickly. Apparently many didn't read the disclaimer in the original post--everyone knows retail is a generally shitty job and there are no victims, only volunteers. Also, nobody said it's a lifelong career, it's the only job one has, or that those in retail aren't pursuing bigger and better things.

It was supposed to be a place to rant/share funny or fucked up stories about working in a crazy industry so that those who have "real" jobs can laugh at us peasants.

There are plenty of pleasant customers to speak of, who negate the jerkoffs, but what fun would that be?

Can a moderator just delete this whole thread...

I worked in a Banana Republic one Christmas during college. It's a mindless, menial job, but it was worth it for the discounts. They accused me of stealing/buying and reselling their clothes on ebay, because my friends and family were paying me to buy stuff with a 60% discount. biggrin.gif
