somewhat stupid thread...shrinking a fitted cap

Hello gents,

heres the dilemma. I have a tiny head. I purchased the following:

http://www.lids.com/MLB/New-York-Yankees/04401

Its maybe a 1/4 inch too big. Now I tried on the smaller size (they only do small/medium/large) , and it was just plain too tight.

So I need a half size worth of shrinking.

Any ideas on how I can do this?

Thanks all.

Give yourself more credit. This is an impressively stupid thread.

thanks for the help

Wash it in the dishwasher and leave it in for the dry cycle. That should shrink it a little.

Sad to say, but I can help.

Boil some water.

Dip the crown of the cap in the boiling water. Be sure to keep the bill dry, or it will warp on you.

Press that fucker down on your head in the shape you want it to adopt.

Yes, it's going to be hot, suck it up, you're the one with a hat what doesn't fit.

Repeat as necessary.

Place the cap on a baking sheet in an oven preheated to 350.

Bake the fucker for 20 or so minutes.

I am very deeply ashamed for possessing this knowledge. I have performed this exercise successfully the one time I've had to try. Good luck.

EDIT: screw the Yankees.

might lose some of the original shape, but this method will shrink the cap.

you should try on another hat in the same size, new era sizing is pretty bad and sometimes you can get a 7 1/2 that fits like a 7 3/8 etc...

let your hair grow longer and put it all under the cap

Quad in a cap? It boggles the mind.
