New changes to B&S forum - Page 33  

New B&S rules look like a great improvement!

Couple of questions:

1) What happens to the threads of sellers who currently have in excess of the 15 thread limit? (How long will a single seller continue to dominate the 1st page by bumping dozens of items at one time)

2) I assume it is OK to close some current single item threads to consolidate in to one thread of similar items?

The sellers will be able to keep them indefinitely. However, if they sell the item, they must close it, and they will no longer be able to open it if they are above 15. If anyone tries to game this, I can see edits. So they will get royally fucked.

Love the changes. Dave I'm coming to you once/if I liquidate my meager collection.

Completely kosher. My comment was directed towards anyone with like, 50 threads now, and decide, hey, if I just keep editing them... I'm golden. No. Don't do it.

The maximum fine is $1 trillion. That's a lotta money. I pledge 1/2 of that towards paying down the US debt.

Can't wait to see the changes. Now with one seller dominating every page with multiple posts I haven't had the patience to browse throuse the B&S forum.

Changes look really great. I was going to pull the trigger on my closet clean today, but Im too shot... maybe tomorrow.

The membership is set in such a way that it discourage mega threads! I thought it would be pay-per-bump, instead it is pay-per-day-for-up-to-15-threads. Isn't the logic driving people to fully utilize the 15 threads quota since the cost is same? If more sellers act in this rational way, doesn't it defeat the purpose of the changes? Did I understand something wrong?

The counterargument is that because a megathread will get more views, sellers, under *any* system, would be incentivized to group items so that individual items also get more views.

However, the system is not meant to encourage nor to discourage megathreads. I expect that people to consolidate items or to put them in separate listings in order to get the most views. A 15 listing limit will not allow any seller to dominate the first page.

The changes to the B&S are nice. Can't wait for the consolidated listings so I can actually look through them again :)

 

Did they do any updates for "speed" today? It is still painfully slow to browse around the site and I'm on a fiberoptic line.
