Not that I am aware of. But if you see something that looks shady, by all means report it.

No, very soon though.

Just catching up to this complete discussion, tho' spoke to Fok when he was in town.

These are potentially strong improvements.

Please implement them as soon as possible, as I have material for many more Flusser megathreads smile.gif

Definitely sounds like a major - MAJOR - improvement.

Looking forward to seeing these change implemented, so we can see if that's indeed the case. Nice one; thanks.

Two minor points:

Please improve the category descriptions. At present, Suits & Blazers is supposed to include sportcoats, but when you look in Coats & Jackets, a quarter of these are sport coats. I believe the first is for sport coats as well, while the second is for outerwear. People are clearly getting confused, and without clear category definition, the search function is much less useful than it could be.

Also: Is there any way to add a gallery pic after a listing is first submitted? I tried in this listing but still my gallery pic is a blank.

Thanks for all the comments guys. We are working to get this up ASAP. Some things (ad unit in front) will take slightly more work, but we are going to make this happen)

To answer this specific question. No. You can never plug up all the holes. Any system can be gamed. However, this new system is designed so that it is hard to break the rules by mistake, which happened all the time, and made for time consuming, difficult on the spot judgements. If you do something like this, you will get hit with a $500 fine, minimum. Because, well, it will be obvious what you have done. You are not allowed to erase data from the listing (and we can revert it anyway), so it's not like you are going to get away with it. Also, there is no time limit on edits to add items, put a big old "SOLD" beside another, etc... so that excuse is gone too. There was a lot of gaming of the old system, because it was never designed for commerce of any kind.

Thanks for all the updates to B&S!

1. THERE WILL BE MULTIPLE ITEMS ALLOWED PER LISTING

You will be able to list any amount of the same category item that you want.

Does this mean you "will be able to" (its your option) or "you must". Can you still make 50 different adds for the 50 pairs of shoes that you have if you want to, and/or create a mega thread?

2. THERE WILL BE SELLER MANDATED BUMPS - NOT ONLY FOR PRICE DROPS, FOR ANY REASON YOU LIKE.

$1 for a bump every 2 days, will be a 2 day membership, $2 for a bump every 24 hours, will be a 1 day membership, etc. etc.

Need to see this spelled out as a bit confusing (sorry if I just dont get it but everyone else does), but will you still have the free bump every 7 days?

6. THE "GALLERY" PHOTO ON THE MAIN PAGE STAYS

Is there an option to turn this off like signatures and avitars?

Really sounds like this is heading in the right direction. I can appreciate the need for less moderator workload and I'm really pleased that changes are happening that take all the things that have been mentioned into consideration.

Eagerly awaiting further details / pricing structure and so on.

Let's see if we can't get some life back into B&S. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Well, you will have a limit of 15 open listings. We allow you to use them as you see fit. The idea is to encourage people to use the marketing strategies that work best for them. The only limits are the all items in a listing must be in the same category. So, for example, you can list 15 pairs of boots together in one listing, and have a separate listing for, say, sneakers. Or, you could list all your items individually if you only have a few, hoping for more views. Or, you could have a listing for brown suits, and another for blue suits. Or, whatever. This allows sellers their choice in their marketing techniques, but keeps the playing field level by limiting the number of active listings someone may have.

Sellers will still have a bump every 7 days. I might make it 10. No, there is no user options to turn it off, and I'm actually a little confused as to what this would accomplish, since there are already a phlethora of viewing options. The bumps show up in the default version, which is the viewing that most people use, including all guests (who make up a lot of traffic, so bumps are certainly no useless for visibility)

One last thing. Could you guys use the BB editor. It makes it much easier for others to respond.

My question about "turning it off" was in regards to #6 (the pictures), not the bumps. No one would want to turn the bumps off :)

How can you go to the BB editor if you have the rich text editor as your default? I like it as the default as that's how I do all my B&S postings, but will change it over to BB if I knew how to when I'm responding to you. Sorry about that.

I don't understand this 1-day, 2-day membership thing. Can someone clarify please?

Say I list 15 different things and none of them sell. If I want to sell something new a month later, what do I have to do to not be breaking the rules? Go to an old listing and look for a "turn off this listing" link?

Do listings ever "expire" if they aren't sold or modified?
