Just because someone doesn't say it the way you guys want or are used to hearing in poems and movies, it doesn't mean they don't feel the same way you do. Some people just don't like expressing it verbally and would rather convey it through little actions or what have you. You have a valid point; people do have different ways of demonstrating their love for each other but, ultimately it does come down to that that phrase. People make a big deal about it because it is a big deal. See Stazy's post above. If I told the girl of my dreams I loved her and she hits me with “I love everything about you”, I would be a little nonplussed by her response. And mind you, it’s not being insecure; it’s being assured that the relationship you’re in isn’t fickle (unless that’s what you want).
