Hey guys I am going to order another suit but couldn't decide between the two. I want either a lighter grey single breasted suit 2 button or a navy 6x2 double breasted number. I already have a 3 piece charcoal suit single breasted 2 button and a 6x2 grey glenplaid double breasted suit. I also have a navy blazer and a few sport coats. I was just wondering on what the consensus is. Thanks a lot!

Personally I would go with the lighter grey single breasted suit. Maybe in a summer weight?

Aslo, what about a dark blue (non-navy) single breasted suit?

I like the summer weight grey suit idea, I don't want a single breasted blue suit because that is what every single person here wears, that or black I wanted something slightly different ie. 3 piece or double breasted

Navy DB, without a doubt. FWIW the suit in my avatar is a summer weight (8oz) DB. H&S "Dragonfly"

Depends on your job and lifestyle. For me, I wouldn't even entertain the idea of a DB for my third suit, especially if one of my existing two was a DB plaid. I would get SBs in light grey and navy, and possibly additional variations in weight and texture, before getting another DB.

Recipe for a totally boring wardrobe.

Has a point if I wanted a more conservative wardrobe. I'm very much experimental in my style of dress and I don't mind standing out a bit, I have this strange love of DB suits for some reason. I'm probably going to get both but I might now be swinging towards the DB navy. (With 2 inch monster cuffs of course).

Stay away of double breasted suits if you are under the 30.

Ok now weight wise there is 17oz 14oz 13oz 12oz, which do I pick to wear for the longest time? I know that 12 is best for 'year round'.

What makes it only suitable for people above 30? Because younger people often look better and you don't want them taking the double breasted style too? I'm under 30 and I have one double breasted sport coat (very difficult for me to find one that fits me) and would love to have more.
