I truly hope the Vikings move to L.A.
A couple years back I was working on a proposed nearby project and had to go through the EIR for the proposed stadium project in the City of Industry. I was quite impressed by the site plan and elevations. The entire project, including apartments overlooking the field and retail looked impressive. However, I agree with the poster that stated that the downtown proposal is much better than Industry in terms of location. If we can support 2 baseball teams, 2 hockey teams, 2 soccer teams, and 1.5 (ok 2) basketball teams, we should be able to support a football team. Just no Raiders or Chargers. Although their stadium is a dump, it's nice that SD has the Chargers and I'd rather bring someone else in that take the Chargers from them.

While I truly despise the Vikings with all my being, I'd be loathe to see them move. The NFC North is filled with such great rivalries (and the Lions), that messing with that dynamic would be a travesty.

Don't bet on it. All of the teams in that division have been there since the AFC days. Although it would make sense.

I wonder if all the LA fans would leave at halftime if the score's 10-0. smile.gif

Only half would. The other half would be just arriving.

Haha we'll never live down the persona of having a fair-weathered uninterested fan base.

Truth is we have a lot of die hard Lakers fans, it's just that our tickets are too expensive and the only people who can afford the games are those who are insanely rich and only go to the games because "it's a hip thing to do". They take clients to business games or are just too busy to spend more than a hour watching a basketball game.

Not to mention, there is just so much to do in Los Angeles that it's not hard for a lot of moderate fans to leave early if the game is a blow out.

I bought two Lakers tickets last season, in the worst possible section and they cost me $65 each.

It looks like this may be happening.. It wasn't in the approved biennium budget, I believe. Talks are in works, of course. Minneapolis would be devastated if this occurred.

If this goes through instead of that atrocity proposed for the City of Industry it just might work. However, I don't want to see another team move here. The Rams can stay where they are. I'd rather see a brand new team altogether.

Roger Goodell said a while back that he isn't interested in creating expansion teams at the moment. I'd love to see the Rams come back. They were the original LA team.

I guess we'll find out really soon if the stadium is getting built or not:
