Generic Style Questions

I want some advice on clothes.  I believe body style goes into clothing style, so I'm 23, short(5'6) medium build(165lbs), fair skinned but I tan well.  I work out but I'm not "cut up".  I want some quality clothes that will last me, and look nice.  Brown tends to look good on me.

I don't really know how to match colors and designs.  Like, if I buy 'coconut'(light brown-yellowish) pants, what should I wear for a shirt?

Do you know of/recommend allenedmonds.com?

What kind of pants should I wear with these shoes?

http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonline/product_3340000_1_40000000001_-1?top_category=120552

Sorry to be so scatter brained, and thanks for any help.

Dude. Read around. This is something you need to develop for yourself. Nobody can answer your totally scattered questions because you have no base point.

AE's are good quality shoes, if thats specifically the look youre interested in.

i'd suggest lurking the WAYWT for a few months, you'll form your taste and opinions pretty quickly. you're still young, if youre not intending on dressing nice everyday for work or whatever, then i'd suggest looking into more fashionable sneakers and a streetwear-ish style.

in my opinion it's better to invest in style that youre most comfortable in. meaning clothes you'll be wearing around friends and to go out in and whatnot. you can definitely find a better pair of AE's than the ones you posted though.

I have my own sense of clothes and style.  I tend to dress prep, but I am trying to develop/change a few aspects.  Alot of my old shirts fade, so I'm considering buying a different material(linen?) or a different quality of clothes, but I'd prefer some advice over just buying tons of clothes just to figure out that 90% of it is crap.

I'm not asking for someone to give me an identity, which is how it seems you perceived it.  I am asking for recommendations on quality clothes and how to match clothes.  Is that a ridiculous request?  If so, I apologize and will stop bothering you guys.

What AEs would you suggest?  I'm looking for a casual pair of shoes that are "nice" on there.  And I'll check out WAYWT, thanks.

Like clark said, lurk WAYWT, find some styles you like, check out the brands theyre wearing, and then go from there. If you arent sure about a certain piece, try asking about it in the Ask a Question, Get an answer thread, or post it in the Ultimate noob thread.

Also, I really dislike those shoes you posted.

Ha, I can't fault you for being honest.  What is it about them that you people hate so much?  Thanks for the tips.

It is a bit ridiculous, because what are you trying to match to what? A polo shirt and some jeans or a blistered leather jacket and drapey cardigans and knee-high leather boots? The world of clothing is pretty diverse.

Well, I gave two specific examples.  The first being matching a shirt to light brown pants(slacks).  The second was matching pants to the shoes I linked.  Is that not specific enough?

I'm asking for advice.  If I am missing specifics necessary in order to help me, let me know.
