Do you know the name of the two, three, or four leather factories or workshops that manufacture for all the high-end luxury brands, if they aren´t doing the process themselves like Hermès?
Where are they?

This list is an ongoing list, you can send your suggestions and I will update it. The aim is to reach the final list that includes the top ten worldwide real high quality luxury leather-goods brands.

Top high-end, true luxury, when money is not an issue:
Particularly refined leatherware recognized only by people "in the know." Very exclusive in design and craftsmanship, produced in small numbers, available through only very specialized dealers. In short, these are the Rolls Royce class of leathergoods. Very to extremely limited production. Partially to completely handcrafted. Always collectible, always valuable.
1. Maison E. Goyard,
2. Hermès,
3. Valextra, > the marriage of the best quality and style.
4. Bottega Veneta, > only for those in the club.

I don't know how you begin to compare something like Swaine Adeney & Brigg to something like Hermes, as they make products of such a distinctly character.

what kind of people buy SAB, it looks quite oldish.

"Oldish," like suits and ties and tweed jackets and pocket squares?

I really like their stuff myself. If I ever get another briefcase, I'd get one from Brigg.

That's all you need to know when it comes to quality wallet.

If you're buying Hermes and posting on SF then you're probably some 17 year old spending his dads money on a wallet that will be out of style next week.

And I don't know how a wallet could be out of style.

It looks high quality but lacks in style. Their design looks démodé, too aristocratic for my liking.

to discover new things to begin with. I never heard about sab... and to reach agreement about the top ten,

Right, but the "best" is highly subjective. If it is to learn about new makers, then great. But to agree on a top 10 will be impossible.
