I've been on numerous forums thus far, and every time a change was made there was a serious amount of bitching, and nothing good could be done. Not to say that this is your situation though, the lag is quite real (allthough im on a 3 to 4 year old macbook, and its not that bad for me) and it probably should be fixed. But besides the performance issues, its just a manner of getting used to the new controls imho.
BTW I'm using a 3 year old Macbook Pro as well. SF's new controls I can deal with, but what I can't get used to, is the way that the fans in my laptop now run at maximum speed when just browsing the new SF2.0, same with other Huddler forums. 60-70% CPU utilisation on a 2.5GHz Core 2 Duo with Google Chrome and SF2.0, similar with Safari. One can forget good battery life now. Pages now take 20-40 seconds to load, sometimes up to a minute before pictures and avatars appear. Before it was only 10-15 seconds. All the excessive scrolling I have to do now, because of the white space, just to read threads and posts, same with other Huddler forums SF2.0 is just plain inefficient, fullstop.
SF2.0 is practically unusable on my Fujitsu UMPC/netbook and Galaxy S Android phone. This seriously limits my access.
Basically, SF is NO longer the enjoyable experience it once was for me.
The thread's title "What Have You Done To My Beloved Forum?!"... says it all really.
Bye Bye. [/END]
