Levi's appropriate for fancy restaurants/occasions?

Say I am going to a fine Japanese or French restaurant. I would wear something like a black sweater, red undershirt, Levi's 511 navy blue jeans, and Aldo shoes. I wear the Levi's because the pair I have is a dark, navy blue color and so I feel like it is classy. Does that work or does the red little Levi's tag ruin the look?

Probably best to avoid jeans if it's somewhere upscale.

Depends on your definition of "upscale" I suppose, but unless it's a restaurant with a dress code, I think jeans usually work, levis or not.
