Paris Recommendations - Shopping/Eating/Bars/etc.

I'll be in Paris for 4 days before heading to Barcelona and Lisbon. I've got some good ideas about Barcelona and Lisbon, but because Paris is so big I wanted to hear some suggestions.

Staying just off of Bastille square but looking forward to walking a lot of the city to hit the obvious stuff.

Been told to check out rue de vielle du temple and rue de francs bourgeois for shopping in Le Marais - any other suggestions?

What about any low to mid price range restaurants? Also open to bar and club suggestions. I'm a big architecture fan if there is anything not on the normal tourist checklist that you would recommend, I'm all ears.

Definitely visit Mariage Frères. The main one in the jew quarter. Drink some tea, eat some delicious cake. The lunch looked good, too.

I can recommend you L'Epi du Pin as restaurant. It's a bit narrow - not much space between the tables - but that creates some atmosphere, too. Don't go there if you don't like it though. Many French people eating lunch there, some tourists. I'd recommend you eating lunch in general since you want to pay low-mid prices. Lunch always is way cheaper in general. Entrée + plat + dessert costs 34€. Great value! Good service, good food, nice atmosphere. I liked it better than L'Alcazar (not bad though it's very big and much is prepared in advance for lunch) and some other restaurant with a sky dome (can search for the name if you are interested. Food is okay, atmosphere is impressive). You should definitely reserve a place as it's very full.

If you want to eat ice cream, I can recommend you Berthillon. It's definitely good.

If you want to go to Ladurée, don't go to the one in Champs Elysées. Or, if you want to wait one hour+, go there. Maybe we just had bad luck, but the queue was endless. We decided to have some more cake in Mariage Frères instead.

For breakfast, simply go to the next café, order a Café au lait and some baguette with beurre salé. I love it. We went to "Le Bistrot de Paris" (Rue de Charonne / Av. Ledru Rollin) Was popular among the locals.

For mid range restaurants check out Le Bosquet. I really enjoyed their soup and lamb. My girlfriend had the steak tartare which was excellent as well...
