I was afraid of the pointy toes as well. Maiden voyage was with a navy suit and it worked.
I've got the loafers as well and haven't felt ballsy enough to bust them out yet due to the pointy warlock effect though the Mrs. thinks they're sweet. While it's the same last, these lace-ups look a lot less pointy IMO.
Spotted a guy last month - maybe one of you all - cruising through an airport sporting the same Guyot loafers (Ron had those as well) in tan with a charcoal pinstripe suit. Was a good look.
Just received my latest order. The Grensons I got in December are really nice shoes, but I think these Italian shoes are even better. I got the black wingtips (no longer showing on the website) and they might be the most comfortable shoe I've ever had on my feet. It may be blasphemy to some to compare Paul Stuart to AE, but the leather on the wingtips reminds me of the leather on AE's new Independence Collection. Really soft. Again, forgive the comparison, but AE is really my only reference point for nice shoes. The moc tassel loafers and the woven loafers are also really nice and both fit my feet a little better than the Grenson loafers. Also, excellent customer service again by Ron. Ordered Tuesday; shipped Wednesday; received Thursday.
Got mine yesterday, much faster than expected. Ordered on 1/10 at 9 pm Eastern with ground shipping, and got it on 1/13!!! I got the Plaintoe Slip-on in Brown Calf and the Pennystrap Moc Russet Calf, both very nice. The slip on is a little more elongated than I'd like but not exceedingly so.
has anyone gotten one of the handbags and knows who it was made for?
FYI, I picked this one up for my wife in "Forest Green:" http://www.riderbootshop.com/dollaro-calf-satchel-bag/
The quality of the leather is really great! I actually found a "HOLD" tag in one of the pockets from when someone had put a hold on it at the store. The price on the tag was marked $1,680 so the $375 I paid I think is a really great deal! (Admittedly I know very little about women's handbags.)
Surprise, surprise, the label on the inside is "Paul Stuart, made in Italy."
