On the Mac everything is fine.

The only major problem I see now on the Mac is the excessive white space in posts, which I detailed earlier in this thread. Also when I'm using Chrome I have AdBlock and Ghostery to disable unnecessary scripting, which was causing excessive CPU usage.

Using Firefox with Adblock is very smooth if you choose to use it.

Works wonders!

I have Adblock Plus, and I can only block some items for being loaded but I cannot prevent the empty frames from wasting space. Is there a trick to do that?

The latest version of Adblock Plus for Firefox has a configuration option "Collapse blocked elements" which will completely remove them from the page. I believe it is enabled by default.

If you're using Firefox, you can hit ctrl + scroll wheel to change the scaling of the page...

just dropping another 2 cents in here:

this layout sucks. hard.

I've used many, MANY forums over the course of my life--and this is by far the hardest to navigate (and a massive sidebar ad? really?). An old-school BBS would work better than this abomination. Get vbulletin and leave it be.

I think, in general, its an improvement, although its taking some getting used to.

One thing I miss I really liked is the 'threads I started' tab. Cant find it. In the same vein, I would like to see a bit more control over 'my posts'.

Dont like the 'thumbs up' thing, its a clever way for someone to neg you and not notice.

I would be okay with everything except the stupid "recent reviews" on the top right of every thread....my screen is already small, why kill such a HUGE amount of real-estate for such a useless grouping of articles?

Disabling avatars in preferences lets me see four posts on the screen. I think I will keep them enabled it since it is the fastest way for me to identify posters (and they are kinda fun).
