I know a lot of people don't like having an avatar and find the new default ones confusing. Unfortunately the system requires you to have one, and therefore you were granted one upon conversion. Fortunately, there is a solution if you would rather not have a picture under your name:

Go to "My Profile" in the nav bar.

Click "Replace Avatar" under your current avatar.

Copy this URL: http://cdn.styleforum.net/4/4c/4c5e9e79_blankavatar.jpg by right-clicking it and choosing 'copy link location' or similar

In "Add or Upload an Image" dialog click "Image URL" tab.

Paste the URL you copied before into the top box of the dialog and click 'submit'.

You are done. Your avatar will now be this, effectively giving you no avatar:

Note: if you want to change your avatar for a different image, just use the uploader in step 4, obviously.
