How do I add a new item? I wanted to do a write up on APC denim, the new standard cut in particular, but it wasn't listed under the available denim and nothing relevant came up when I searched for it.

First impression, and this is coming strictly from the Denim (jeans) section, is that there are too many non-SF approved brands. AKA clutter. Maybe start from scratch and only have SF user created reviews?

Apologies if this isn't in the right subforum

It's taking feed right now from Revolve, Yoox, LuisaviaRoma, Thomas Pink, and Endless. There is a lot of garbagio there. J and I can prune the list, but it's a non-trivial task, and clearly, other things are occupying our time and energies right now.

However, it's on our list of things to do.

To add a item manually, go to reviews. Search for the item (I just did APC). Finding nothing, at the bottom, there is an option to add something manually. You go through that process. One drawback is that you have to have an image on your computer. Hope that will be fixed soon.

I just entered APC jeans using Context's website and website photos.

Please, do populate the reviews with non-shit.

Thanks guys.

Yea there is way too much stupid shit in the reviews

If the feeds are full of garbage, why take them? Why not just save yourself (and us) the bother?

Is there any way for a user to actively "close" the Reviews sidebar?

I can understand why this can't be done for the advertising module of the sidebar (you need money/it's in the contract) but please consider allowing users to close (and keep closed through a profile setting) any non-advertising sidebar content eg Tags, Reviews, any other user-content-sharing/social-networking stuff that isn't directly revenue-generating for SF.

You mean you're getting tired of the ECCO Men's Fusion Tie Casual Walking Shoe review?

I'll ask if it is collapsible, but I really can't promise that.

I dunno about the Ecco reviews either, but there are actually people who ask about this stuff. Hopefully, they will read these reviews first, before asking on the forum.

When j and I have time to come up for air, we are going to manually delete items from the product review section, and, as I've said before, we are going to be getting much better items in that section, and you are welcome to add items to be reviewed, even if you do not want to review the item yourself.
