I don't smile enough in public

Anyone have tips for smiliing more in public? I've been told I tend to look unapproachable due to my facial expression, it's pretty blank bordering on angry. I have a nice smile but it feels weird to walk around with a big grin all the time. Any thoughts? Thanks!

This thread needs more attention. I am thinking about taking it on as my own private responsibility, and making sure that it becomes at least somewhat epic. Now guys, can you help our man here with some suggestions on how to smile more?

Assume a sense of smug superiority over the person you're encountering. That's good for at least a smirk.

Seriously, you only need to smile for the few seconds you're greeting or walking past the person. I always say "hello" and smile to every person I pass (except for the homeless because they'll try to capitalize on my being affable). If you make eye contact (good luck doing that in LA) a smile naturally emerges.

that made me smile.

few years back, someone who worked for me lightly commented that the people here at work has never ever saw me smile. I asked her to give me the names of these employees so I can fire them.

Do you know who doesn't smile? The Viennese. They might smile in private, like down in their little torture chambers, but in public no smiles at all. Longskate, are you Viennese?

Apparently the Chileans don't either, according to my Chilean friend. And I've read you can forget about it in Moscow as well.
