Not sure if this is forum related, but I've lost my Buy/sell privileges. What gives?

im getting used to the B&S forum and am starting to really like it. however, not sure if this is fixable, but when i go from page 1 of a certain classifieds (mens clothing etc) it leaves me on page 2, but at the bottom of the list of items for sale, so i would have to scroll all the way up again and browse downward if i wanted to go to page 3 and etc

We actually broke the system last night by mistake. SOrry to all that it has inconvenienced. The B&S was built custmized for us, and we will try to get all the glitched fixed ASAP.

In in the general forum, is there any option to get rid of the column "last post"? With my browser fully open, it seems that "last post" always adds an extra line which makes all the posts larger and the need for more scrolling. I know the last post is usually related to the subject in the original post so don't really care. If you kept the number for the pages, if someone wants to go to the last post, they can just click on the last page number and scroll to the bottom. Guess I don't really understand the benefit of the entire last post column.

The banner adds on the right side, make the forum very very scroll heavy, which kinda sucks. Is there any possibility of including the banner adds (and everything on the right hand side) only in the actual threads them self and not in the forum sections where all the posts are? The extra room in the forums would make a HUGE difference and every time you read a thread you would still see the adds.

Also in the B&S classifieds, is there anyway to hide the sample pictures? This seems like it would remove at least 1 line spacing and make you have to scroll less. In the B&S Archive, even with the "last post" column pushing everything down an extra line, I can see 10 posts. In the new B&S classifieds (not really a forum anymore unfortunately) I can only see 6 items.

As someone else mentioned when you click page 2 in the B&S, it does not put you back at the top of the page. It stays at the bottom and you need to scroll back to the top. Only website I've ever seen do this.

REsponding only to the last bit for now (I am in NYC with the Styleforum editorial team) that is a definite glitch that we will address ASAP. The B&S system was built customized for us, and there were apparently some bugs that we did not catch in the sandbox.

Cheers,

Fok.

Just a question: how long does it take before the first post gets moderate and I can post freely?

If you go here: http://trailers.apple.com/#section=justadded&page=1 scroll down and click 'Next' it does the same thing (and yes, it's annoying).

Using the Rich Text editor, how do you make a clickable text link?

When using the 'Ad link'  function above (or what it's called - when I mouse over the functions, some of them are in my native language and not English), I get a pop up window asking for the URL, but I don't get the (usually following) option to write the text for that link. As it is now I might as well just copy and paste the link directly into the post...

I realize you guys have a boatload of other things to do, but here are a couple more questions/comments:

Reviews section: Great idea with lots of potential. Why is it already populated with a bunch of stuff that no one here would be caught dead in? Stacey Adams?? Also, I think it would be better to have fewer sub-categories. It just further fragments the content. e.g. we can handle all dress shoe reviews in one review page. no need to divide up into loafers, boots, oxfords, etc.

"Search this thread": The old system let you do an advanced search, where you could search by username for posts by a specific person. This is especially helpful in very long threads. :foo:

"Search this thread" results: I get a bunch of html code in when I search for posts within threads.

The 144-pixel vertical limit on signatures (which is still too much) is not being enforced on signatures which further exacerbates the vertical spacing problems in forum threads. There are some really obnoxious for-sale signatures that need to be truncated. Some of you overenthusiastic sellers should realize that even if those signatures are permitted by the rules, other members will eventually turn off the display of all signatures because yours are so annoying.

I'm not sure that this has been addressed but I can't see "Featured Sponsors" on the right side of the forum.

From what I've seen, we can't post on (some of?) the "Men's Clothing" forum, which really is a big problem as most of us joined the forum because of them...

Haven't noticed. What happens if you try?
