I'm Hiland, and I'm on the Partner Success Team at Huddler, the company that powers the new Styleforum.

I'll be checking this forum over the next few days and trying to answer any questions that you have about the new forum layout, letting you know where things are, how things work, and responding to any bugs that you might find. Hi Hiland,

Is there any way to do an advanced search within a specific thread like we used to be able to do?

e.g. I want to search for all posts made by "LA Guy" in this thread instead of just searching for "LA Guy" under the "Search This Thread" box.

Is there a way to browse the new B&S classifieds listings and not have
the small preview pic shown. Similar to how you can turn avatar pics
off for users.
Makes it much "safer" to browse at work- less pics the better!

If you click on "Advanced Options" under the search box, you can search posts by username from a forum, but not an individual thread.

Bonus feature: You can save an advanced search for later use.

Sorry, no- we don't have a preference for disabling those images.

If you boss asks, just tell him or her that you're buying them a present and they just ruined the surprise. Then ask for a raise.

Hitting the "Go to first unread post" portion of the text bubble button in the left column next to a post requires way too much precision. Is there any way to make that part of the button larger or even better, make that its own button or the only function of the button?

If the fonts on the site are too small for you, you can always bump up the size in your browser... if you're using Chrome, the browser will always remember your increased zoom every time you come back... not sure if IE or FireFox will do that.

Whenever, I post in a thread, it gets auto-added to my subscriptions. How do I stop that?

i used to subscribe to the buying & selling forum through google reader, and i used to get the pictures of the posts on that site, but with the new layout, i'm just getting the subject text with no images, is there anyway to have the way it was before?

Sorry- we don't support hybrid mode... In fact, it appears that you were the only person on the old board that was using hybrid mode, and the first one to ever request this across our 25 sites.

If you look right under the reply box, you'll see a drop-down- just set the threshold where you want it and reply. The system will remember your preferences.

If you want to manage your subscriptions, you'll see a link for this on your user page- just click on your username in the upper right of any page.

Our RSS feeds don't currently handle the images from BST galleries, sorry.

Hi Hiland,

is there a way to exclude certain forums from the home/activity view?
Is there a way to force a certain default activity configuration, e.g., forums and reviews on; profiles off ?

is there a way to increase the default number of 'threads' displayed in that view?
