Is that out today? I'm not even going to front, those little wizard bastards are a guilty pleasure of mine.

I have some special screening passes.
I hope all is well with you , Pete. I haven't heard from you in a LONG time.

I stopped watching the film adaptations after Order of the Phoenix because I thought the movie was horrible. That being said, I really hope they do The Prince's Tale justice. It's one of the most well-written and touching chapters in literature.

Yup. Starting with Order of the Phoenix, the proceeding films should have been chopped into two parts.

I hear this a lot -- even from people who haven't read the books. It could be attributed to the dozen supporting characters, vast back-stories, or simply, rushed editing. Although to be fair, the Order of the Phoenix novel wasn't that good to begin with.

Half of my friends are lining up 3-4 hours in advance for this.... I am kind of ashamed.

I'm seeing it on Saturday; I'm a massive fan of both the books and the films.

I recently watched Order of the Phoenix and it was actually much better than I remembered it being; honestly, I enjoyed it more than the sixth film, which had a completely different focus than the book.

I actually waited in line for 2 hours for the midnight premiere and I have to say that it's well directed except they decided to throw a curveball with the plot at the end. It was worth it, but did anybody else get the feeling that it wasn't as serious as it should have been?

Ah, yes. The Half-Blood Prince was possibly the most disappointing of all the films--those geared towards an older audience, at least--simply because the book provided so much potential for quality movie. And, yet again, it came out seeming rushed.

Haven't seen any but the first one, although I do want to report that there was a trove of Harry Potter lookalikes at the corner of Hollywood and Highland yesterday. I wish they would have done some sort of syncopated dance number, but sadly, no.

I went to the 7:30 show and when the movie was over and we left the theater the line wrapped from inside the theater to outside and around the corner. Crazy.

Just saw it at the Odeon in London. Electrifying.

just saw it.. it was good... but i felt like the focus was on the wrong parts.

*sigh* it feels like another part of my childhood has come to pass with this movie coming out...

MOVIE SPOILERS
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
- i felt like the elder wand scene was kinda half ass to me. i thought that returning it to dumbledore's grave would do such an epic wand more justice.
- could've done a better job with aging the characters 19 years later... all that happened was that they looked tired to me.
- i thought voldemort's death would be more epic/cgi worthy. i guess they ran outta money.
- bellatrix's death scene should have been a lot more epic... especially if it played out the same way as it did in the book
to be honest, this movie adaptation is probably the one that was the most disappointing to me because i felt like it distorted the facts in the books more than the others (even half blood prince... the focus was off but at least it was mostly factually correct)

btw can you tell me what curveball you were talking about (in spoiler form wink.gif)
