my mom used to work in a sewing factory for many years, before everything went overseas, lets just say clothes are just clothes, no sense in paying $250 for some cloth hastily sewn together to meet production quotas. i was at harry rosen the other day, i felt it was almost a crime to see the $100 price tag on a tshirt i passed by. there is probably someone out there who is foolish enough to buy that.

I have similar experiences shopping online. If the site doesn't tell me where it's made, I always contact customer service to find out.

Acne chinos appear to be a palatable deal when on sale around $100, never understood why they are popular though.

Acne at full retail has always been overpriced. At least Rag & Bone's had the good sense to lower their price points a little, now that so much of their line is produced in China...

An obvious one but worth the mention, Uniqlo?

Haven't tried the chinos personally but their sizing fits me pretty well (also 28) and the construction of their clothes kind of spoils me. I'd imagine their chinos range around 40-60 so it's just a matter of fit, which I'm sure more experienced members can help you with.

Just chinos? There's a huge thread on just chinos, I think just about everything is discussed.

For Chinos, my go-to is Wings + Horns or Epaulet. Both solid. Epaulet is better made (there stuff is just amazing), but I like the cut on the W+H a little better.
