By length, i should be a 10 (maybe even a 9.5), but I got pretty wide feet. Sometimes, I'm lucky enough to find wide shoes, but usually, I just make do with 10.5s and 11s.
The problem, of course, is that while the feet are very wide up front, they're normal-sized near the heels, so I'm always slipping out of my shoes. And this has been going on for so long that it's actually become "comfortable" for me. Also doesn't help that I got flat feet and usually need insoles.
With the summer and all, though, I'm wearing loafers all the time. It seems, though, that these particular shoes run slightly larger/wider than usual. And no laces, obviously, and no socks to provide friction. Amazing arch support also means that I don't need my insoles. So the shoes actually feel more like mules or something. Which is fine, I feel comfortable, but the largeness of the shoes are more pronounced, you know? It definitely "feels" too big, which isn't the case with sneakers, oxfords of the same size.
So just came to my attention that I definitely size up for comfort. Wondering if anyone else does too.
