Is There Anywhere I Can Send Jeans for Chain Stitch Hem?

Has anyone found a shop that will hem my jeans with a chain stitch if I ship them to them? I have an unworn pair of Somet and RRL jeans that I need hemmed and I don't trust my local tailor to be able to get some nice roping out of the hem.

Help!

Blue in Green does it on a Union Special. Will run you at least $25 plus shipping each way.

Blue Owl and Self Edge will do it

Denim Doctors at the Hollywood Trading Company will do it too, and they accept mail-ins as well. Most local tailors don't have the equipment to do a chainstitch hem.

Do you guys know if BiG or Blue Owl will do mail-ins? I asked Self Edge and they only take walk-ins or denim purchased from them. I'll check out Denim Doctors too. Thanks.

I've had good experiences with both BiG and Schaeffers Garment Hotel (believe the latter was formerly involved with Denim Doctors).

I have mailed in jeans that I bought at BIG and they hemmed them for free and mailed them back to me really quick. The whole process only took 5 days.

We do mail ins. We charge $25 each for denims purchased elsewhere, free if purchased through us on regularly priced denims. If you picked up your Somet from BiG, give them a call and they will mostly likely not charge.

Denim Doctor is good for alterations....like tapering.

Thanks, Jay-D. I picked up the Somet jeans here in the buy-sell forum.
