Le Bernardin has nice digs, but there is a major flaw. Their urinals are floor length, and at the bottom they put a bunch of ice down there. I don't know why, maybe because it's a cool effect, but naturally curious people like me are going to go "hey! I'm going to pee on that". But of course, jagged angles and full stream force means the pee will be directed everywhere and I got my own pee all over my trousers and shoes.
Really? BITD, lots of bars did this whenever they switched out their ice form behind the bar (new ice in, old ice goes to the stand-up urinals). Maybe it depends on the size of the cubes, but my impression was that the warm pee stream instantly melts down any sharp jagged deflecting angles, and in fact minimizes splash-back.
The best urinals are the ones at the Old Town. Can't find a good pic but they are essentially walk-ins...
