Jeans recommendation for a less than perfect body (Male)

Hello friends,

Thanks for making this such a wonderful site! I am in DESPERATE need for some new clothes, of which one item is 1-2 pairs of Jeans.

I have recently moved to Houston (Texas, USA) and put on some weight (the good Southern food here!), thus need some new Jeans.

I usually used to wear Levis 505 Jeans (Regular Fit), but would like to look at other brands...still want to go with a regular fit i.e. nothing tight.

I am waist 37-38 inches, around that.

I am 5ft 11 inches, ~200 lbs, brown skinner, 34 year make, conservatively dressed, i.e. I don't wear extra baggy Jeans or muscle fit tshirts.

I have fat around my BELLY and HIPS (A*S). I like Jeans that fit on the waist.

Any recommendations please? I am open to buying online or in store, and can spend a little $$ if needed.

Thanks,
desidude

Look into A.P.C. Rescues, they are a "strait fit" like the 505's and were a staple when I was bigger. I would also recommend RRL slim strait or low strait cuts. They are both nice and slim without being skinny, and work even for less than ideal bodies.

Thanks, I will look into APC.

Just to clarify, I am not necessarily looking for a slim fit, but just a regular comfortable fit that I can wear with Polo Tshirts and Shirts....

Thanks,

The perfect body is a myth, wear what makes you happy.

One of my favorite pairs of jeans is my LVC 1966s. Fairly full leg and roomy rise, plus solid quality.

Do you ever plan to lose weight? Maybe if you are going to get a pair of APCs you should get them in a few sizes smaller as an incentive to lose weight.

I tried this as an incentive to lose weight, but it doesnt really work, mostly because your taste can change or they may not fit you the way you think. better to dress for your current size, than dress for how you hope to be sized.

What I do is I buy a pair of pants that fit, but fit pretty tight.
