Are any of you Dads helicopter dads? You know, constantly 'hovering' over your kids?? Please discuss.

God no. Two boys, no hovering. Hovering parents rob themselves of the joy of having kids. The basic problem with hovering parents is that the kids soon learn they run the show. Not only do the kids become a pain to the parents, they're a pain to anyone else who happens to cross their wake. Rob

My mom is a helicopter mom and I am 26 and live in a different state. She pretty much invented the oedipus complex.

It can't be an Oedipus complex if you know it's your mom and still want to fuck her. Those are just good old incestuous thoughts. The complex deals with a subconscious desire, but anyway...

Though that was the story, the Oediups Complex itself does not require the boy to not realize she is his mother.

You guys are awesome. Hot Moms, Oedipus, and kids running the show. Hey, Rob is right about that. I have really backed off the helicopter thing. Let your kid get his ass kicked once in awhile. Also, did any of you guys grow up with 'Play Dates'? The words make me laugh out loud. Play Dates? WTF??
