+1. I have a couple of friends from long ago who never did anything with their lives, don't have jobs or stable income sources, avoided responsibility as much as possible, and yet still manage to stay drunk/high and bed fine random ass at very regular intervals. Funny how that works.

Oh, and I'll choose the present-day poor option, since I know that I could easily elevate myself back to my current standard of living within 5 years or so. I'm not so sure that the life expectancy of an ancient king would be much better than that.

Poor in your country is not the same as poor in the whole world. I'll take being King on the basis I'd be pretty much guaranteed food, and good food at that. France please.
