Going to Tanglewood, any tips?

Seeing my first show at Tanglewood this month (Steely Dan) and I'm looking for some general tips. Good parking spots, best spots on the lawn, good restaurants in the area, whatever. Can anyone advise? Thanks.

Your parking will most likely suck, period.
Sit as close as you can without having to strain your neck to see everything.
Church Street Cafe (lunch), Casa Lucia (virtually reservation-only) and Zinc (upscale but casual/modern) are all great, and Church is particularly great for what it is!

I just don't get Steely Dan.

Maybe I need to be high to listen to it.

Wow, Tanglewood is a gorgeous venue. Surrounded by the Berkshires on all sides...there was a beautiful fog hanging over the mountains when the music started.

We sat at the very front of the lawn, like right in front of the gate to the inside seating, and the stage was still difficult to see. The lawn slopes downward away from the stage, which was a big design error. Next time I'll try to get inside seats, but if you're just going to chill out with a picnic spread and some wine...anywhere on the lawn should suffice.
