Drying a 95% Cotton 5% Cashmere Cardigan

I just received the cardigan I ordered and it is 95% Cotton and 5% Cashmere. I never had a garment that contained cashmere before, and a lady friend of mine said not to dry it as this would cause MAJOR shrinkage (she emphasized major quite a bit, perhaps excessively since I got the point the first time).

It fits absolutely perfect. Would tossing it in the dryer on low really shrink it badly?

I certainly wouldn't risk it; is it really so tough to wait for it to dry naturally? You really shouldn't be putting anything in the dryer unless you're really in a hurry.

Just lay it on a drying rack if you are that worried about shrinking. 5% should not make it shrink much more than 100% cotton. I have some cotton/cashmere mixes that say they can be dried and a few that recommend dry clean only.

Air dry flat.

Air dry. Soak it in your sink when washing. No machines in the process!
