Great coat, but the ugly dad jeans ruin the whole look. They don't look "proper" and they don't look rock 'n' roll, so the outfit is caught in this bland no-man's-land where all too many MC guys find themselves.

Meh, nobody's gonna notice with that coat above...fuggin' amazing!

I agree about the sweater but not the bow tie: the important thing about bow ties worn casually is not to look like you've been too anal about how they are tied. It's a different matter with more formal contexts.

I think the shoes are slightly too elongated and sleek for them, but otherwise the jeans look good.

+1. I don't see how those jeans can be considered "dad" jeans.

Sugarcane = "dad" = that's funny!

Dready, cold, blah day in Michigan. Sorry I haven't posted very much. Some health problems (nothing too serious, don't mean to worry anyone) have kept me from getting dressed up most days but I had a few clients and errands this morning. All new stuff today. The sweater is cotton but very heavy and the pants are bit more mustard than tan in natural light. Keep up the good work folks, gonna try to catch up on the thread. Oh, and I wore my brown AE wingtip boots on the bottom.

Jeans are fine. Rambo's wrong on this one.

Hah, I love how this is all on Bo, even though he's not the person who originally brought it up!

Mrs. Thread likes the cuffs on these Rivet Chinos when I'm wearing them as part of a light, summery ensemble, preferably without socks or SC. But she thinks that if I want to wear them with a sport coat I need to lose the cuffs and hem them.

I'm on the fence about it. What do you guys think?

Like the shirt and jacket combination, and I'd hem the pants.

Though I just took a second look; I do like the roughness the visible stitching provides. Still going to say hem them, but I can definitely see the appeal of keeping them cuffed (if you are going for something with extra character)
