Can't you arrange the Yom Kippur equivalent of a shabbas goy to snap your picture on holy days? C'mon, man, you need to think outside the box!

To be fair, Stitchy's photographs don't necessarily do his outfits the same justice they deserve when seen in person.

Dig, you look cool as fuck in that last photograph. What a fucking champdog.

I like the top, your haircut, the sunglasses, the shirt, all of them look lovely.
The cardigan has a great style as well but seems to be both on the wide and long side, have you lost some more weight?
Unluckily I am not much of a fan of the bottom.
While the pictures taken from the front look ok, having a look from the side it seems the leg opening is very narrow and thus the way the jeans fall onto the shoes is not all that great.
Once again, I am very happy to see you posting again icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

I agree the jeans look a little narrow in that last photo.

Also, I think a brighter shirt (say a blue gingham) would be preferable. Nice to have a flash of color in casual wear, or at least that is my preference.

Having said that, great look overall.

The cardigan is a size Small so I'm stuck. Nice of you to think my weight has dropped but alas, I have hit the proverbial wall, for now. The very slender leg of the jean was a deliberate effort to find the smallest, tightest opening with no stacking. I wanted a clean, unwrinkled line all the way to the hem.

Yes, I was quite the mess, wasn't I? nod[1].gif Miles to go before I sleep, though.

Good to see you back Diggers, great pics too. On sabbatical from your company dress code?
Much appreciated, Ian! Just a day off and running some errands. Good to be back but I'm afraid it will be a rare sighting. I have much fewer opportunities to take such photos. frown.gif

I usually wear gingham checks with denim but I thought the tattersall would provide a brighter break against the navy cardigan and my somewhat darker complexion. Thanks for the nice words!

One of my rare forays into MC casual... here because I am not wearing a jacket (gasp!) and a tie with a cardigan (double gasp!). it's a shame that the poor quality of my webcam doesn't capture the qualities of the coat - it's a lovely thick sage green cotton twill overcoat from a very short-lived label called Conference of Birds. I always look out for this stuff because the quality and detailing is beautiful and their pieces seem to work in multiple contexts.

Other deets: blue cardigan from 45RPM, Ben Sherman OCBD, vintage burgundy knit tie, and dark green cords (from Lands End Canvas - yes, you read that right). (+ my usual Loake 1880 tan brogue boots). In real life the three different unpatterned dark colours and textures all work really well together, but you'll just have to take my word for that!

Spoiler - poor quality robo-pose coat pic (Click to show)

FWIW, you would have made an excellent "Featured Extra" on the television show "House of Cards" that is currently being shot here in Baltimore. The reality is that the reporters in the newsroom don't approach your high level of casual dress but you are dead on to the producers' vision of what those reporters SHOULD look like. Looks great. Including the overcoat!

Thanks! I like your cardigan look too. Actually, I will go back and give you a 'thumbs up' because I forgot to do that earlier. I'll be interested to see how the US House of Cards works out, because I loved the original British version with Ian Richardson...

"You might very well think that; I couldn't possibly comment." Oh, for some perverse reason, I loved Francis Urquhart.

As I did for you as well. I keep thinking that it's either a posted comment or a thumbs up but there's no reason why it can't be both.

Per some earlier requests, I try to keep the forum updated on the HoC progress via a dedicated thread here on MC. Several SF/MCer's have had background roles so far. I'm still waiting for stitchy to show up on the Central Casting's call list. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif
