Indeed. But for outdoor travelling, exploring and camping they are fine smile.gif

Yeah but for posting pictures on the Internet, on STYLEforum, they are anything but fine.

What's that whistling sound?
The sound of Kapps' hard earned SF credibility sinking at an alarming rate!biggrin.gif

For centuries people thought that wearing pig intestines as condoms was perfectly acceptable and "fine" as a means of birth control. Yet we've evolved.

Though, to be fair, I'd rather wear pig innards than those shoes.

All due respect here, Kap, but you posted a pic sitting in a lawn chair in what appears to be someone's backyard wearing a hoodie and a pair of khaki cargos. Nothing about that is "outdoorsy." And while I still think a pair of boat shoes would work equally well for both of your examples, tossing up nature pics doesn't justify wearing crocs with a casual ensemble.

Actually I was sitting in the Huntsville city's park. It was a trip during which we've been on both of my examples. I love boat shoes as well as espadrilles but for beach it would be evil smile.gif

Nice shoes but not for variety of outdoor stuff.

Kapp is right. Crocs are good for a variety of situations. This does not mean they look good or should be posted here...

Why not?

I've worn sneakers (or sometimes boat shoes) to the beach and outdoor places for the last 20+ years... What's the worst that will happen - get them wet? a bit of sand that needs to be tapped out? big deal...

On different pages here. I wear boat shoes to the beach often. I also wear them when rafting (not intense rapids, but rocky nonetheless) quite a bit. In both occasions they work perfectly well. Boat shoes are made to get wet and grip slippery surfaces. They also dry pretty quickly and are beyond comfortable.

I'm often the first to say that for many things utility is more important than aesthetics and that SF often gets far too caught up in the idea of "being stylish" at all times. But I don't think these offer any more utility than other options listed. And, beyond that, they're Crocs for Christsake.
