I would think you could iron/press a bit of a roll into it (or at least make it slightly less "ironed, hammered and glued flat") by pressing the underside of the fold. Essentially turn the lapel up and press the front of the jacket (which includes the underside of the lapel) flat. When you lay the lapel down again, it will revert to it's natural state, but hopefully with a bit of roll and less fold.
Also, I think switching out the gray plastic buttons on the jacket for something in the brown family (probably similar in color to your shoes and belt...and phone case ) with a tortoiseshell kind of pattern would make a big difference. But, if you also wear the jacket with black shoes, this might not work as well.
