Both are prescription. My insurance won't cover transitions lenses.

I think this rig needs brown suede shoes.

Something like
this? (Click to show)
or maybe even without a tie
like so? (Click to show)

Well, those *are* derbies ;-)

Actually, I just wrote 'Casual Friday' as an excuse to put it here (even though I guess you could argue that it was worn casually, as it was for dinner and drinks).

Thanks for the nice comments.

I don't understand the derision of using a pocket to hold glasses. It's a pocket, and it holds things. One of those things could be glasses because, you know, that is a convenient place to stash your specs for a bit.

I don't have a problem with it, but IME usually when you see someone with their glasses hanging out of their breast pocket, they also have about 300 other sprezzy things going on too and the whole thing looks a mess. But I am quite sure that it's possible to do in a good way.

So why not put them IN the pocket? Leaving an arm hanging out is so obviously a purposeful action, but what is the purpose?

This is one of those little things that just boils my piss. (Sun)glasses are a necessary and functional accessory when actually in use. When not in use what is to be gained by hanging an arm out of a pocket. What message is being conveyed here?

There was a (thankfully) brief trend on here some time ago of some posters displaying their Lamy pen clips in their breast pockets, a habit with which I'm equally derisive.

I got dogs abuse for bringing this up a few months ago (I think it was an otherwise excellent pic from IanGP) so I'm glad to now see there are others out there who seem to be equally irritated by this and its not just me being a moody bastard (again!)

The purpose is to keep the glasses from falling down into the pocket. It's convenient. You may want there to be a message, but that doesn't mean there is one.

It's a good look.

Inundating pockets with decorative items is affected.  There's no problem if the glasses are of practical use.

Well, when it was done in the creepy sartorial pictures thread it was also called out and rightly so. And there's an obvious difference with the late lamented Mr Sam thread, i.e. it was funny and people were practically queuing up to have their picture done. Intent matters.

Its not the negativity. Its using pics of someone here on this forum in very bad faith, and without their consent. Last i saw the creepy images thread it was selfies or random google images. But, i dont read that thread, so i cant quite say. Whatever the case, my feelings would be the same across the forum.

This
This
And this

There were quite a few images from our own SF in the creepy image thread.  One of the example is the collection of Mr. Spiffy's pictures thats been ridiculed in a very vitriol manner by swarms of igents.

I am against bullying but I don't see anything wrong with using SF pictures as negative examples, as long as the comments are not personal.
